About Us

Finding Inspiration in Every Turn

At chipsID, we are consistently driven to serve, learn, and progress alongside all of our customers. To effectively combat counterfeit parts, we must remain committed to supporting, collaborating, and most crucially, sharing our discoveries with the wider community. By doing so, we can collectively empower all companies to more effectively prevent counterfeit products from infiltrating their systems, freeing them to concentrate on innovation.

Our Story

As a team of engineers, we have often encountered instances where we or someone we know has had first-hand experience with counterfeit electronic components. The individuals affected by these components have had to invest significant amounts of engineering hours attempting to rectify a problem that could have been prevented with proper execution of a DMSMS plan and counterfeit mitigation measures. Our culture is deeply committed to customer focus, safety, and trust, and we firmly believe that solutions without actions are meaningless.

Counterfeit encounters in the field are never fun, and their repercussion can be dire. It is a constant reminder that counterfeit is real and should be treated with a proactive mindset.

In his role as a Co-Founder of chipsID, Harry Sood is devoted to providing an effective counterfeit mitigation service and protect our industry leaders. As the company’s CTO, Harry diligently works to develop evolving solutions to combat the growing threat of the counterfeit market.

Harry brings years of engineering experience in the Aerospace & Defense industry encompassing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS). Counterfeit mitigation often involves identifying the root causes of counterfeit incidents. Harry's experience with RCA has led him to build a deep understanding of how to investigate and analyze complex issues to identify their underlying causes, which is a crucial skill in uncovering the origins of counterfeit components. Furthermore, DMSMS challenges arise when the original sources of materials become scarce. In the context of counterfeit mitigation, this experience is valuable because it demonstrates Harry's understanding of supply chain and the need validate sourced components.

In addition to his industry experience, Harry has earned a Bachelor’s in Aerospace Engineering and a Master’s in Space Engineering from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI. This rigorous educational background gives him a strong grasp of the technical fundamentals, concept of operations, and policies of aviation and spaceflight.
