Our Story
Why We Started
We started chipsID because there was no centralized database of Known Good Devices, also known as Golden Samples. The entire organization had nothing genuine to compare their parts against, so we set out to build that reference.
As engineers, we have repeatedly dealt with counterfeit components first hand. The people affected sank significant engineering hours into a problem that proper DMSMS planning and counterfeit mitigation would have prevented.
Counterfeit encounters in the field can be dire, and they should be met with a proactive mindset. To combat them, we keep supporting, collaborating, and above all sharing what we find with the wider community.
